18 entreprises françaises participated in the French Pavilion at the APM 2014 exhibition
The UBIFRANCE office of Singapore organised the French Pavilion for the 13th edition of the Asia Pacific Maritime exhibition (APM 2014). 18 French firms (SMEs and large groups) participated in the French Pavilion of this regional benchmark exhibition of the maritime and port sector, which took place at Marina Bay Sands from 19 to 21 March 2014.
APM is the major meeting for maritime and port sectors in Asia-Pacific with more than 15000 visitors and 1000 exhibitors. The maritime industry is a strategic field in ASEAN and especially in Singapore. The city state is in fact the second global port in terms of container traffic, as well as one of the hubs for refinery and petrochemicals in Asia. Singapore has also become one of the world leaders in repair and conversion of vessels for exploration and petroleum production (in particular the FPSO Floating, Storage, Production & Offloading). According to the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the Singaporean naval building sites possess 70% of the global FPSO conversion market, 70% of which are from autoelevated platforms and 20% are from ship repairs.
On the eve of the exhibition, the UBIFRANCE office in Singapore organised a sectorial information seminar where Mr. Frédéric ROSSI (UBIFRANCE Asean and Oceania director), Mr. Eric GENOT (Armement Attaché -French Embassy in Singapore), Mr. Joel SIK (Senior Officer - Singapore Economic Development Board) and Mr. François Xavier d’HUART (Regional Marine Director - Axa Asia)
Over the three days of the exhibition, close to 90 B2B meetings were organised par the UBIFRANCE office in Singapore for 13 of the 18 exhibitors of the French Pavilion. Ambassador of France in Singapour, Mr . Benjamin DUBERTRET met all the exhibitors during his visit to the exhibition and attended a networking cocktail co-organised by UBIFRANCE and the French Maritime Cluster.
