1st French Animation Festival in Singapore

Singapore will be celebrating the very best of modern French animation during the French Animation Film Festival, taking place from 22nd to 30th March 2012.

Organised by the Alliance Française de Singapour, Nanyang Polytechnic and with the support of Cathay Organisation, the event is the first of its kind and will see a series of French cartoon films screened at the Alliance Francaise and Cathay theatres.

The festival opens with "The Rabbi’s Cat" on March 22nd, followed the next day by a showcase of works from the famous Gobelins L’Ecole de L’Image school of visual arts in Paris.

Other films on the programme include recent cinema release "A Monster In Paris", Oscar nominees "The Illusionist" and "A Cat in Paris", 3D movie "Tales of the Night" , the acclaimed "The Triplets of Belleville" and "Dragon Hunters"

The festival will run concurrent to an animation exhibition at the Societe Generale Gallery, while a free French Animation Conference also takes place on March 24th, featuring talks from filmmakers.
