On 20 March 2010, the International Organisation of the Francophonie will celebrate
its 40th year. This 40th anniversary will be commemorated with many programmes – the
most important being the inauguration of the Maison de la Francophonie in Paris

Celebrate Francophonie at the Alliance Française de

Events at the Alliance Française marking the celebrations
of Francophonie include the Singapore-France Jazz
Alliance Concerts with the Jeremy Monteiro Trio and
special guests from France Nicolas Folmer and Sylvain
Beuf, the Saturday Francophonie Film Marathon
2010, an exhibition at the Société Générale Private
Banking Gallery and a competition organised by the
Médiathèque. This month-long celebration will come
to an end on Saturday 27 March 2010 with the Prize
Giving Ceremony of the Runme Shaw Cup Challenge which honours the best students of the Alliance and the French Alumni Language
Awards, which honours the best students studying French in Singaporean institutions.
The festival comes to an end with a buffet of La Francophonie on the same day.

Dis-moi dix mots, dans tous les sens Competition

23 February – 25 March 2010


This competition is open to all French students in Singapore.
Compose a short work of fiction such as a letter, a story,
a poem or a travel journal of 10 to 15 lines, typed, Times
New Roman font size 12. Seven out of ten “Mots de la
Francophonie” (words of Francophonie) have to be used in
the composition. These words must be in bold on the final
submission. The words are as follows : Baladeur, Cheval
de Troie, Crescendo, Escagasser, Galère, Mentor, Mobile,
Remue-Méninges, Variante, Zapper.

Francophone Worshops

Francophone workshops will be held on Saturday 27 March at the Alliance Française
de Singapour from 3pm to 5pm. Several games and activities will be organised to
celebrate the French language and Francophone cultures and civilizations. Level
groups will be formed with 4 to 5 students per group.
A small Francophone buffet will also be proposed to participants.
