Commemoration of the First World War - 11 November
The 11th November was marked by a ceremony of commemoration, of the centenary of the First World War, which was held at the Embassy It was presided by His Excellency Benjamin Dubertret and Dr Steffen Koch, First Counsellor of the German Embassy. Embassy representatives, students of the French and German schools and the French consular counsellors were present. To close the ceremony, the French School’s choir performed a French-German version of the "hymne à la joie".
The Ambassadors of France and Germany, Mr Benjamin Dubertret and Mr Michael Witter, also launched a day of exchanges and discussions at the French School between students of LFS and the German European School Singapore. Besides the projection of the film "Joyeux Noël", a deep reflection was made on the issues of the commemoration of the First World War.
This day ended with a free projection of the same film at the Alliance française, to a packed audience and in the presence of the two Ambassadors.
