Concert by French musicians "La Bande de la Loingtaine"
The musicians of La Bande de La Loingtaine will be giving a concert on 11 March 2013 and a joint recital on 15 March at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory in conjuction with the 6th Singapore Chamber Music Festival.
The musicians of La Bande de La Loingtaine enjoy careers as soloists and chamber musicians, as well appearing with the world’s finest orchestras and holding teaching positions in conservatories of international standing across Europe. They have played together for many years at various locations around the globe, but meet regularly at their home, the idyllic setting of La Loingtaine on the edge of the forest of Fontainebleau. La Loingtaine is an old farmhouse set in beautiful grounds leading down to the river Loing, with a converted barn as a concert hall. It is here that the musicians of La Bande come together to explore the classical, romantic and contemporary chamber music repertoire in a deep and detailed way that only such a retreat affords. This approach to music making, combined with an awareness of historical performance practice and the programming of pieces within their historical context enables La Bande de La Loingtaine to provide dynamic perspectives to their performances.
The event is free and open to the public.
