Digital Nights meet Paris’ Nuit Blanche
The best of the visual and digital arts "made in France" is meeting up this September in Singapore for the cultural season of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Every night, from 17 to 26 September, four french artists or groups will participate to "Digital Nights 2010", a night event organised in relation to "Nuit Blanche Paris".
In total, around 10 artist installations from Europe and Singapore will be presented simultaneously, from 7.30pm to 11pm , along Orchard Road, as well as at the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and Sculpture Square.
Among those, one video installation from Bertrand Planes on Tangs’ windows and a sculpture with interactive sound and light from the group Visual System at Mandarin Gallery. Also included in the programme, "Ultra Nature", a virtual garden installed within the SAM premises by Miguel Chevalier, one of the international digital arts pioneers.
The Parisian group, MU will present "Love is in the air", a soundwalk and an interactive game on i-phone along Orchard Road, with, at the end of it, a trip to Paris for two, sponsored by Air France.
The French Embassy in Singapore, Culturesfrance and "Encore, the European Season in Singapore" are contributing significantly to this first edition of the Digital Nights.
