First Newsletter in English of the French Embassy in Singapore

Dear friends,

The French embassy in Singapore is launching a newsletter to keep you abreast with what we do in Singapore and what is happening in France.

Among other headlines, we have the immense pleasure to announce that Voilah!, the French Festival in Singapore, is coming back in May and June 2015. The festival aims to be firmly anchored in the Singaporean landscape and promote the French creativity and innovation in culture, science and gastronomy. Voilah! will be a meeting point between French and Singaporean communities, and is above all, a celebration of a strong relationship built over the years with our Singaporean partners, institutions, cultural and scientific centers. It will be in 2015 a contribution to the celebrations of the 50 years of Singapore and diplomatic relations between our two countries.

I would like to seize this opportunity to express, once more, on behalf of the French government and people, our most sincere condolences for the passing of former Minister Mentor Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. In the words of President François Hollande: “Mr. Lee Kuan Yew was a visionary leader who was able to guide the remarkable development of Singapore since its independence in 1965…. France has lost a friend”.

Warm regards,

Benjamin Dubertret
