Four French artists selected at i Light Marina Bay 2012
Themed “Light Meets Asia”, the event will feature more than 30 innovative and environmentally sustainable light art installations from 9 March to 1sr April, with a strong focus on works from Asia. Displayed along the Marina Bay waterfront, these stunning light art installations will transform the Bay into a magical space of light and colour.
Included in the line-up are works by four artists from France:
BIBI is presenting Bibigloo, his delightful work which is a polyethylene replacement for the conventional ice igloo.
Olivia d’Aboville is presenting Coral Garden, which is a garden of “coral” made out of re-used cocktail stirrers, to raise awareness about the degradation of the world’s coral reefs.
Marine Ky’s work, Receptacle, is a series of three house-like structures containing lantern-like installations made out of embroidered, painted and decorated textiles.
The festival is also proud to present Key Frames by Groupe LAPS, a work which made its debut at the 2011 Fête des Lumières in Lyon.
Visitors can also look forward to a full array of complementary programmes and activities, such as carnivals, free outdoor movie screenings, roving performances, guided tours, talks, workshops and more!
