French photographer Etienne Clément back to Singapore
Etienne Clément, French photographer who works in Paris and London, is back to Singapore for a residency at Lasalle College of the Arts. With the support of the Institut Français of Singapore, he will give 4 days of workshops to the students, from 13th to 18th February 2012.
His first visit to Singapore was back in February 2011, where he was invited by the National Arts Council to give workshops at Noise Singapore 2011.
In his pictures full of plastic figurines, he combines photography and models to invent new imaginary stories, which places the characters in places which are often unexpected. Some images seem to put the fantastic world which the children create with play and emphasize on the heroic dimension of play in real, whereas some loose their naive aspect to suggest an ironic interpretation of news headlines and history.
