Giselle is the legendary story of a young peasant seduced by a great lord. A love story, powerful, symbolic and full of magic. The romantic fantasy of an era where dreams and reality are weaved together in a very tragic way.

The radical vision of the revered 19th century ballet premiered in 1982 and remains an iconic work of the 21st century. One of the most influential dancemakers today, Ek is known for overthrowing ballet conventions and bringing to light the tormented pyschology of classical characters.
This programme is part of Esplanade Presents dans festival 2010 from 8 to 17 October.
