Knighthood of the Order of Agricultural Merit conferred on French Chef
French chef, Julien Bompard, was honoured by the French government on Wednesday, 15 September 2010 for his contributions to French cuisine. He was presented with the title of Chevalier in the Order of Agricultural Merit by the French Ambassador to Singapore, Mr Olivier Caron.

In 2001, Chef Bompard commenced his career in Singapore at the prestigious Raffles Hotel. Two years later, he created his flagship restaurant, Le Saint Julien. He has additionally received several notable distinctions such as the ‘Five Star Diamond Award’ from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (1999, 2000) and hailed the "Global Chef of the Year 2006" by the Culinary Academy and Spice Garden Singapore.
