Culture, Education and Science

Composed of about fifteen people, the Department for Culture, Education and Science of the Embassy of France in Singapore is in charge of developing cooperation between France and Singapore in the fields of culture, education and science.

As a centre of expertise and advice, its priority actions are aimed at:

- Developing cooperation in science and innovation between France and Singapore,
- Strengthening university exchanges,
- Increasing the teaching of French language and promoting the French-speaking world (Francophonie) in Singapore,
- Strengthening France’s cultural image around the values of creativity and innovation and supporting the development of French cultural and creative industries in Singapore,
- Monitoring exchanges in the field of sport.

It is also in charge of leading the network of French schools in Singapore, including the International French School (Singapore), strengthening the attractiveness of French universities through Campus France office and ensuring relations between the French Embassy and the Alliance française de Singapour.

The Department for Culture, Education and Science is in close contact with the joint research laboratories, the regional office of the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and its subsidiary CNRS@CREATE Ltd and the offshore campuses of French higher education institutions in Singapore. It participates in the animation of the network of French scientists in Singapore, the French Lab Singapore, as well as the network of former students and interns in France, France Alumni Singapore.

Every year, it coordinates the organisation of Voilah! France Singapore Festival, a platform for collaborations in the fields of culture, education, science and lifestyle and.

The Department for Culture, Education and Science is also in charge of running the voilah.sg portal for news between France and Singapore in the fields of culture, education, science and lifestyle.
