Launch of Creative France Campaign in Singapore

On 8 April 2016, the Creative France Campaign was officially launched in Singapore during a seminar held at the French business school ESSEC with French Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, Matthias Fekl and French Ambassador to Singapore, Benjamin Dubertret.

Singapore is one of the ten priority countries of this campaign, led by Business France, which aims at challenging preconceptions, enhancing the economic image of France through deeds and results, and demonstrating that France is resolutely modern, creative, open to the outside and a top destination for anybody who wants to grow their business in Europe.

Backed by pioneers such as star chef Hélène Darroze and designer Philippe Starck, the campaign draws on examples of French innovation in sectors such as food, technology, healthcare, tourism, transport, culture, luxury goods, fashion and design.

During the seminar, nearly 150 participants exchanged and showcased examples of innovative projects between France and Singapore. Panellists included Singapore Chef Justin Quek (Sky On 57), Hugues Ricour (Ubisoft), Erick Lansard (Thales Asia), Cyrille Schwob (Airbus Group), Kevyn Yong (ESSEC) and Dr. Raj. Thampuran (A*STAR).

The campaign has a simple, specific goal: shine the spotlight on the leading individuals and major innovations that make France what it is today. It’s also a means of promoting France’s appeal, by showing what the country does best and the areas in which it excels.
