Petroleum Downstream Discovery Mission organized by UBIFRANCE
From the 10th to the 13th of June, UBIFRANCE French Trade Commission offices in Singapore and in Kuala Lumpur have organized a discovery mission in the petrochemicals and refining sectors. On this occasion, a delegation of 10 companies from different areas within the industry (technical assistance, inspection, industrial cleaning…) was sent to both Singapore and Malaysia.
In Singapore, the French representatives had the opportunity to attend a presentation of the petrochemical and refining sectors in Singapore, given by the Economic Development Board (EDB), a government agency, as well as the SCIC organization. An initial networking session was organized with the main players in the downstream sector. It was a great success for both the local and the French delegates. The French companies also visited the Jurong Island complex and especially the site of the “Singapore Parallel Train” which is ExxonMobil’s most important petrochemical site in the world. In addition, meetings were arranged with ExxonMobil’s sales department and with other key actors of Singapore’s economy.
The French companies were entirely satisfied and are eager to participate in future tender bids. The local representatives have highlighted their interest for the solutions and services offered by the French companies.
