Public Lecture by Ambassador Pierre Sellal “The European Union in a globalized world – Strategic prospects” Singapore, 16 March 2012
ASEF and the French Embassy in Singapore invite you to a Public Lecture by Ambassador Pierre Sellal, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of France, on “The European Union in a globalised world – strategic prospects”, that will take place on 16 March 2012.
At a time of great changes in the world, the economic and financial crisis has put Europe at the forefront, giving sometimes the impression of a European decline. The EU has reacted on the basis of its founding principles: responsibility, solidarity, convergence and improved governance. Consequently the current stage of the construction of the European Union will end up with more and a better Europe. Similarly, the EU is convinced that the challenges the world is facing call for more international coordination, in which Singapore and the other ASEM countries have an important role to play.
Mr Pierre Sellal has been Ambassador, Permanent Representative of France to the European Union in Brussels, from May 2002 to April 2009. Since 2009, he is the Secretary-General (Permanent Secretary) of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE).
Mr Pierre Sellal
