Reception for the Movement of French Enterprises (MEDEF)
A delegation of the international Movement of French Enterprises (MEDEF) gathered in Singapore on 28 November, following 2 days in Malaysia. The delegation, which includes a wide range of representatives from the transport, energy, finance and legal sectors, is led by Mr. Thierry Courtaigne, Vice-president and managing director of MEDEF International and Mr. Arnaud Vaissié, president of the French-Singapore Business Club, founder and CEO of International SOS. The latter, accompagnied by the Ambassador of France, was able to meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The delegation also met with the Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Lim Hng Kiang, representatives from the Singapore business community and government agencies at a lunch hosted by its local counterpart, the Singapore Business Federation. This visit will enable the delegation to discuss with representatives from the Economic Development Board, especially on competitiveness, innovation, research and development, as well as to visit a research laboratory on sports technologies (Institute for Sports Research).
This visit forms part of an intense strengthening of our bilateral economic relationship, consolidates our position in the city state and facilitates the growth of new business opportunities. Since the signing of the strategic partnership with Singapore during the visit of Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and Minister for Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq in October 2012, accompagnied by a delegation of MEDEF international, the Singaporean Prime Minister made a a visit to France end October 2013, where he discussed with heads and representatives of French enterprises during a meeting organised by MEDEF.
