The Climate Finance Day, Paris, in May highlighted a number of private sector initiatives which support a transition towards a low carbon future and the UN objective to limit the rise of global temperatures to 2°C by the end of the century. This is an important year for climate change as parties work towards a global climate deal which will be negotiated in December at COP21, Paris. This event will bring these issues to light and help identify opportunities for the financial sector in Singapore in the transition to a low carbon economy. Join us for this interactive event, the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences, and to hear from experts in the field.

The EU Delegation to Singapore and the embassies of Belgium, Germany, Denmark, France, Norway, Sweden and the UK are holding this film screening to raise awareness on the issue of climate change and the forthcoming international climate change negotiations in Paris starting 30th November, also referred to as the 21st session of the Conference of Parties (COP21) to the UN’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

We will be holding a short panel discussion with members of Singapore’s civil society to discuss the challenges and expectations associated with climate change. This will be followed by a screening of "The Salt of the Earth" by Wim Wenders & Juliano Ribeiro Salgado.

He has witnessed some of the major events of our recent history; international conflicts, starvation and exodus. He is now embarking on the discovery of pristine territories, of wild fauna and flora, and of grandiose landscapes as part of a huge photographic project which is a tribute to the planet’s beauty.
