Sciences - Universities

The initiatives that help to develop scientific and technological exchanges between France and Singapore have significantly increased in the last few years, as shown in:

• the development of new subjects of research under the influence of renowned French researchers based in Singapore either temporarily or permanently

• the growing importance a French-Singaporean joint laboratory in science and information technologies, Image and Pervasive Access Lab

• the involvement of CNRS (National Center of Science Research) in the setting up of a joint laboratory between Thales and the Nanyang Technological University

• an Embassy founded and managed programme, the Merlion programme, between laboratories from France and Singapore

• the embedment of Embassy liaison officers to help foster scientific relationships with Singaporean scientific institutes (an expert is embedded in the office for life sciences in the National University of Singapore, another in the office for engineering sciences in the Institute for Infocomm Research of the A*Star Agency)

• an online cooperation platform between France and Singapore in science and technology
