The 28th Prizegiving Ceremony of the Language Centre of the Ministry of Education (MOELC)
The 28th Prizegiving Ceremony of the Language Centre of the Ministry of Education (MOELC) took place on Thursday, 27 May 2010, to reward the best students learning a third modern language of either Arabian, Indonesian, Malay, French, German or Japanese.
The prize presentation honoured students at the beginner’s level (Sec 1) to advanced level (JC2) and took place in the presence of Mr Olivier Caron, French Ambassador to Singapore. This ceremony gave rise to presenting the Ambassadors Cup to the best student in French, Japanese and German annually.
This year, it is Ms Chew Li Hong who received the Cup from the French Ambassador for her brilliant results in French. In a discussion which she addressed her audience in French, Ms Chew Li Hong explained her attachment to the French language and her wish to master the language and the links she started to have with our country, which is the reason for her deciding to study in France the following school term at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon.
