From 13th September to 11 November 2011, the Quai Branly museum will organise in Paris the 3rd edition of the International Photography Biennale called "PHOTOQUAI", which is dedicated to non-occidental type of photography. For its 3rd edition, the works of two Singaporean artists, Charles Lim and Edwin Koo, has been selected and they will be featured at the Quai Branly museum.
The participation of the two Singaporean photographers at Photoquai is the result of a steady relationship between French photographer and curator of Photoquai 2011, Françoise Huguier, and Singaporean artists. Françoise Huguier has done her first residency in Singapore in 2009 with the French Embassy’s support, during which she has worked on a project with the students from Lasalle College of the Arts and produced a series of pictures on the HDB.
This year, PHOTOQUAI will present 400 pieces of 46 contemporary photographers from all over the world and is partnering with different international vocational institutions like the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the Eiffel Tower, the Petit Palais, the Australian Embassy and the Latin American House, etc...
This exhibition is free and offers a journey on the quays of the Seine river, along the Quai Branly museum and in the museum’s gardens.
