French Ambassador Marc Abensour was the Guest-of-Honor at the NATAS Travel Fair opening ceremony on 17th February. The Singapore’s largest travel fair celebrated this year its 50th edition.

During his opening address, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of tourism industry for France which accounts for 8 % of its GDP and has created over 2 million jobs. In 2016, France remains the world’s top tourist destination with 83 million visitors.

After the great success of Euro 2016 soccer competition, France will host other major events in 2017: Tour de France, 24 hours of Le Mans, Hockey World Cup. Due to the reputation of excellence of our golf equipment, France will host next year the Ryder Cup, one of the five most watched sporting events in the world. And Paris has just shared its project #Madeforsharing Paris 2024 for its candidacy to organize Olympic Games.

France will go further and even aims at exceeding 100 million visitors by 2020 to be the first destination in the world to reach this milestone. To reach this target, France will implement a promotion strategy which will highlight France’s biggest strength: its diversity with its beautiful 18 regions.
